dashi is extremely light flavor. if you cannot find bonito flakes, try to see if you can instant dashi at your local supermarket. if you still cannot find them, in an emergency you could use shrimp shells (just the shells) - boil the water, dump the shells, boil for another 1-2 minutes, lets steep for 10 minutes, strain the liquid and enjoyCan you make dashi with fish oil?
