Can I make gyudon without dashi?

I really want to make gyudon(Japanese Beef Bowl) for dinner for my family tomorrow night, but it seems I need dashi for it, I live in an extremely rural area and I can't find it here or anywhere within 50 miles. I have the mirin but a lot of recipes I come across it seems dashi is needed. Any advice?Can I make gyudon without dashi?
you can make it without dashi, but it is not as delicious as one with dashi.
