What do you do with the kombu left over?

from making dashi? It should still be good for something, though its a bit slimey....any IdeasWhat do you do with the kombu left over?
Actually, composting is your best bet if you don't want to eat it. Most of it's flavor is spent %26amp; once boiled, it doesn't store well.What do you do with the kombu left over?
Make Shiokombu(濉╂槅甯冿級. Cut the kombu into a square (about 1 cm x 1 cm), put them into a pan, add a little water, soy, mirin, and a little bit of suger. Boil down on a low heat.

The quantity of each incrediants is up to you. If you like sweet one, put more mirin than soy.
