Amtrak to Portland Airport?

Im looking at taking the Amtrak from eugene to portland. it says online that portlands station is PDX, which is the airport. does the amtrak get into the airport or do i need to get a shuttle from the station to teh airport?|||Amtrak's use of PDX for anything is confusing, but it means Union Station which is about a half mile north of central downtown. For air travel, it means Portland International which is about 5 miles northeast of downtown鈥攁 10 to 12.5 mile drive, depending on the route.

The quickest way would be a taxi, which costs about $27 and takes 20 to 30 minutes, depending on traffic.

The inexpensive way is MAX lightrail at $2.30, but will take 50 to 60 minutes, plus waiting time.|||Amtrak station is downtown and does not go to the airport. The airport is approx. 12 miles away. You would take the MAX light rail to the airport from near the Amtrak station. Or take a cab.

Walk 0.44 mile southeast from Union Station Amtrak Depot (800 NW 6th Ave) to Old Town/Chinatown MAX Station (Stop ID 8339)

Board MAX Red Line to Airport

Get off at Portland Int'l Airport MAX Station

Travel time: 47 minutes

Fares: Adult All Zone ($2.30), Youth/Student ($1.50) or Honored Citizen ($0.95)|||Amtrak doesn't go to the airport. Like you said, PDX is the name for the Portland airport but a lot of people are in the habit of calling the whole city PDX. Amtrak stops in downtown Portland. From there take the light rail to the airport.|||tri met goes to the airport
