Question about grits...? help!?

So I'm going grocery shopping today and I was going to pick up some of Quakers instant grits.

As a vegan, i noticed that almost all of the flavors are like cheddar cheese, ham n cheese, country bacon flavor..

The ingredients for country bacon are:

SPECIALLY PROCESSED DEGERMINATED WHITE CORN GRITS, TEXTURED VEGETABLE PROTEIN (TEXTURED SOY FLOUR, SOYBEAN OIL, WATER, SALT, HYDROGENATED STARCH HYDROLYSATES, NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR, HYDROLYZED SOY PROTEIN, SUGAR, CARAMEL COLOR, CITRIC ACID, POTASSIUM SORBATE, YELLOW 6, RED 3), SALT, CALCIUM CARBONATE, REDUCED IRON, NIACIN*, BHT AND CITRIC ACID (AS PRESERVATIVES), THIAMIN MONONITRATE*, RIBOFLAVIN*, FOLIC ACID*.

*ONE OF THE B VITAMINS

So is that safe to eat?|||It might be safe, but it might not be vegan. As Marko said, Natural Flavor could be animal based. http://www.quakeroats.com/contact-us.asp鈥?/a> is the contact us page for quaker. E-mail them and ask them what the natural flavors are.

I concur that it would just be better to get the unflavored and add what you want to it. Bacos are vegan, so add some vegan margarine and some Bacos if you want a similar taste.|||Natural flavor could be meat derived. Besides that sounds disgusting, just get normal grits and add stuff to it.|||yeah, outside of the coloring that is mostly natural and definitely NOT meat or dairy
